Alex Ortega

Alex Ortega (b. 1993, Los Angeles, California) is an industrial designer working in conversation with precision, craftsmanship, and physical history. With a background working in the automotive and the outdoor industry, he has a strong influence on creating pragmatic and focused objects. His work has a deep emphasis on examining the relationships between rituals and the objects that define them. He seeks to craft works that feel both relevant and meaningful to human culture. In addition to his individual practice, he is the founder of color theory, a design collective dedicated to challenging traditional power structures and advancing the decolonization of design.
